We thought we would add a Blog to our website that would show you why we love the North Fork of Long Island, why we think you will love it too, and what there is to do while you are here.
There are many sites that let you know what's going on out here, this site will give it to you from our perspective. Which means through nature, gardening, the beaches, the farmstands, antiques stores and the real reason most of you like to come out here...Wine and the Wineries! We will focus on what is going on in our immediate area especially (Cutchogue) and try to give you a good idea what's going on at the wineries you can walk to from our Bed and Breakfast.(Bedell, Pindar, Lenz, Raphael, Pugliese, and Peconic Bay)
Greenport will be the second port to host the Tall Ships fleet Memorial Day Weekend (May 26th – 28th) as part of the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Race Series. The sail begins in Savannah, Georgia (May 3-7), races up the East Coast to Greenport, Long Island, then to Newport, Rhode Island (July 6-9) and Halifax, Nova Scotia (July 19-23). Once at port, visitors can board the training ships and meet with crews who are enjoying a “sea education.”
This year’s TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, with celebrations and festivals along the Atlantic Coast. Precise race routes and festival schedules will be announced soon.
Next week and next month, two great restaurant weeks are coming up. If you are not familiar with restaurant week, it’s a great way to try a restaurant without breaking the budget. On the fence as to wether or not you would like a particular type of cuisine offered by a restaurant? Try it out on restaurant week. Heard mixed reviews about a place and not sure about it? Use restaurant week to give it a try without laying out a lot of money. Or better yet if you are on a budget and want a great east end wine country getaway, come out for restaurant week while we are still offering our off season rates. Two people can stay two nights and have a great dinner each night for less than $500! March 18th-March 25th is Hampton Restaurant Week and many great North Fork Restaurants are participating.
