One of my favorite events on the North Fork in the summer is the annual Antiques show and sale on the Cutchogue Village Green the first Saturday in July. The show benefits the historic buildings of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk historical Council, and most of the buildings are on the green where the show is held. This year the show falls on July 7th and Early Birds are welcome from 7:30 -9:00am for an entrance fee of $10.00, after that the entrance fee is only $5.00. The show is like a local treasure hunt with many antique and vintage items on display. Knowledgable dealers and collectors are happy to answer your questions and help you out. There are all sorts of things from enamelware, furniture, glassware, silver, brass, linens, china and collectibles of all types for sale. There is a snack bar in the center of the show and a homemade bake table. Every year there are new dealers and dealers that have been reserving space there for years. Here are a few pictures of last year’s show to help you see what it’s all about!
And finally, this old beauty that made an appearance at last year’s antique show serves as a reminder that the next day (Sunday, July 8th) is the Lion’s Club 42nd Annual Classic Car Show from 9 am -4pm at the Peconic Bay Winery on the Main Road in Cutchogue. Admission is $5 for adults and kids under 12 get in free.
